My approach to realize a goal has always been more or less the same: I define my objective as much as I can, find people who have already succeeded and emulate them, come up with a plan then try to break it up into small steps. The last thing I do is this: I start before being ready. Voila!
So… all that to say that I’m starting this blog before even having a clear idea about this whole MBA thing. I know that if I don’t do something about it I’ll procrastinate forever. So far I’ve looked around for what seems to be good blogs about the same topic (See the blogroll on the side), I’ve subscribed to ClearAdmit feeds and I’ve been listening to the MBA Podcaster for a while now. I’ll also get the Official Guide for GMAT Review and perhaps that KAPLAN Book.
I’m trying to know of some good resources, trying it out for myself and toss out the ones that are not useful for me. It’s always good to know what successful students have done in the past and what is advised, I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel here. I’ll go over some 2009 application of the schools I’m targeting and even get into their essay questions.
So far it seems like the most discussed topics are knowing what you want to get out of an MBA, good essays, great GMAT score (700 at least), and how on earth you’ll pay for your degree. I am also trying to find some good blogs from students admitted to the class of 2010. On a side note, I was surprised it wasn’t easy finding another blogger trying to get admitted in 2010 rather 2009, though I must admit I didn’t search for too long. If you know of any or you are one, please drop a comment.
